Last week, HSPRD’s Immigration group attended AILA’s Annual Conference on Immigration Law in Orlando, Florida, where Partner Kendra Scheuerlein was among the panelists presenting “Your Client’s Greatest Weapon: The Use of Storytelling in Immigration Court.” The presentation discussed case development, including building trust with your clients, presenting a compelling narrative to the court, and preparing your clients and other witnesses for testimony.
Partner Kelli Fennell was also a speaker in a Litigation and Removal Proceedings panel titled “What Just Happened? Client and Witness Preparation” where she discussed, among other topics, how to help clients handle inflammatory statements or accusations from ICE attorneys, qualify expert witnesses, work on possible stipulations and proffers with ICE, and manage your own clients on the witness stand.
