Attorneys from HSPRD’s Immigration Practice Group attended the sold-out 2025 American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Midwest Regional Conference in Chicago, IL, a day-long, multi-track event for immigration lawyers from across the country. They gained up-to-date information and training on the impact of the current administration’s policies and executive orders on family and humanitarian-based visas, employment-based visas, and detention and removal defense for non-U.S. citizens.
While this conference typically features presentations from government officials, none participated this year due to a directive from the current administration restricting officials from engaging with the public. As a result, all scheduled government speakers withdrew following the inauguration.
