Liz began her career by serving as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago’s Law Department, Torts Division, where she gained extensive jury trial experience and successfully defended the City of Chicago and its employees in personal injury lawsuits and premises liability cases.
Since joining private practice, Liz has litigated to trial medical malpractice cases ranging from failure to diagnose and treat bacterial meningitis resulting in death, failure to diagnose and treat congestive heart failure resulting in coma and death, failure to appropriately monitor an elderly patient during meals resulting in a choking death, the negligent performance of gynecological surgery resulting in burns, the failure to appropriately diagnose and treat an infant with failure to thrive resulting in catastrophic injuries, and birth injury following shoulder dystocia. Her practice also includes the defense of healthcare institutions in toxic torts and in premises liability litigation.
