On June 5, 2025, Matthew Piers, President and Senior Counsel at HSPRD, was honored as the “2025 Champion of the Public Interest” at Impact for Equity’s annual Persistence Through Change event held at the Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago.
Impact for Equity remarked that he “has fearlessly confronted challenges, sparked meaningful dialogue, and inspired others to actively engage in advancing racial, economic, and social justice.”
This award highlights Mr. Piers’ decades-long commitment to defending constitutional and civil liberties, advancing fair housing, and championing civil rights throughout Chicago and beyond.
