HSPRD applauds Shareholder Donna Kaner Socol on being named a 2nd Annual Salute! Top 50 Women in the Law Award honoree. Salute is a recognition by The Chicago Lawyer and Chicago Law Bulletin honoring the top 50 women lawyers in Chicago for their legal success as well as for their dedication to women lawyers and their advancement and for being a shining example of leadership.
Donna Socol is a founding member and Shareholder of Hughes Socol Piers Resnick & Dym, Ltd. She focuses on representation of the health care industry, including tort, medical malpractice, medical device, pharmaceutical and commercial litigation defense. She has defended numerous multi-million dollar lawsuits involving brain damaged and impaired infants, as well as serious injuries and deaths involving adults and children. She has defended almost every medical specialty in malpractice matters.
Ms. Socol has been a frequent speaker for The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and numerous medical centers. She is actively involved in philanthropy. Her devotion to the improvement of maternal and fetal health caused her to take an active role in “The Friends of Prentice, “a board that raises funds to support cutting edge research. Prentice is the Women’s Hospital of Northwestern Medicine. She has been on the board for 20 years and Gala Co -Chair for 9 years. The research grants focus on the arc of a woman’s life addressing all aspects of medicine that affect women. The organization has raised over $20 million dollars. A current study focuses upon the effect of COVID in pregnancy.
Donna has also been published in the ABA Journal, and The Woman Advocate, which imparts her views on topics of interest to women and men. She is also recognized by other organizations such as Leading Lawyers and Super Lawyers.
