On Thursday, November 21, immigration attorney Kendra Scheuerlein and Professor Gayla Ben-Arieh of Northwestern University presented at the Chicago Bar Association. During the presentation, entitled “U.S. Refugee Policy at the Southern Border and in International Law,” Ms. Scheuerlein discussed how the current Administration’s policies are playing out in the cases of detained women and children at a facility in Dilley, Texas.
“As the landscape of asylum law and policy constantly and rapidly changes under the current Administration, I was thankful to present alongside Professor Ben-Arieh on the latest policy and case law shifts and how they are playing out in people’s lives along the border.” Ms. Scheuerlein stated.
