HSPRD is proud to join in the celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day this October 13th. Chicago is home to one of the largest urban Native American populations in the country and HSPRD acknowledges that the firm, and this city, reside on unceded land home to many tribes, including the Anishnaabe Tribes of Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi, and the Ho-Chunk, Kaskaskia, Kiikaapoi, Mascouten, Menominee, Meskwaki, Myaamia, and Peoria Nations. HSPRD celebrates Indigenous communities and activists’ work to counter the narrative that has so often focused on European explorers who perpetrated unprecedented devastation on Indigenous communities. HSPRD joins activists in calling for the City of Chicago, Cook County, and Illinois to honor this day as Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
