Last week, HSPRD immigration attorneys Kelli Fennell and Kendra Scheuerlein were part of the first “Wrestle” meeting at Wellspring Alliance Church in Wheaton. The session was formed to create opportunities within the church to dialogue about social issues and raise awareness about immigration.
Ms. Fennell and Ms. Scheuerlein presented on family immigration and asylum laws in order to provide historical context and help facilitate a conversation within their church community about how they can be allies and become more civically engaged. Ms. Fennell and Ms. Scheuerlein are associate attorneys specializing in immigration and nationality law. They have worked at the US and Mexico border and assisted families seeking asylum and have presented at Know Your Rights workshops in the greater Chicagoland community.
