HSPRD Attorneys Attend CAIR-Chicago’s 13th Annual Event

On February 18, 2017, HSPRD’s Kalman Resnick, Kendra Scheuerlein and Joshua Karsh were among the 1,200 supporters who attended CAIR-Chicago’s 13th Annual Banquet. One of the many heartfelt stories shared by speakers involved the support of Mr. Resnick and his work to reunite a Syrian family. With the help of CAIR-Chicago and Mr. Resnick, Sahar Algonaimi, a 58-year-old teacher from Saudi Arabia and a citizen of Syria, entered the U.S. in Chicago on February 17, 2017 to meet her mother who had just undergone surgery for her cancer. Three weeks earlier, due to President Trump’s travel ban, Sahar was denied entry, sent back, and had her visa revoked. Sahar and her mother were proudlyable to attend this event as they were greeted with a standing ovation.
