HSPRD Attorney Kalman Resnick Files Emergency Motion on Behalf of Chicago Father Detained by ICE

HSPRD immigration attorney Kalman Resnick represents Ruben Torres, a longtime Chicago resident and father of 16-year-old Ofelia Torres, who is battling Stage 4 cancer.

Mr. Torres, who has lived in Chicago since 2003 and has no criminal record, was detained by ICE in Niles, Illinois, leaving his partner and two children without their primary caregiver. Mr. Resnick has filed an emergency motion arguing that Mr. Torres’ detention is unlawful and violates his constitutional rights.
