E-1 and E-2 Visas Now Available to Citizens of New Zealand


The U.S. Embassy in New Zealand has announced that they have begun accepting applications for Eligible New Zealand companies and nationals to apply for E-1 Treaty Trader and E-2 Treaty Investor visa status. Treaties between the United States and many countries (such as Argentina, Belgium, China, France, Japan, Mexico, Pakistan, South Korea, the United Kingdom)allow foreign nationals to come to the United State as a non-immigrant to manage substantial investments or to act as a managerial or essential employee. E-1 Treaty Trader visas allow individuals who are coming to the U.S. to develop and direct an enterprise that will carry on substantial trade between the U.S. and the home country of the beneficiary. E-2 Treaty Investor visas allow individuals to come to the U.S. to direct and develop the operations of a business in the U.S. in which the applicant, or another individual with the same nationality of the treaty country, has made a substantial investment. Additionally, E-2 treaty investor visas are available to the essential employees of such businesses.
