Elisabeth Mustoe is an associate in the civil rights practice group at Hughes Socol Piers Resnick & Dym, Ltd. Ms. Mustoe joined the firm in 2024 and specializes in employment law. She advises and counsels employees and executives on a variety of workplace issues, including disability accommodations and leaves of absences, sexual harassment, hostile work environment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblowing, and employment-related torts. Ms. Mustoe also negotiates employment, separation, and restrictive covenant agreements on behalf of employees and executives. Ms. Mustoe is both a zealous advocate and a pragmatic problem solver, partnering strategically with clients to achieve their preferred outcomes.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Mustoe was an associate at a boutique law firm in Chicago specializing in employment law, where she gained significant litigation experience representing employees in federal and state court and at federal, state, and local administrative agencies. Ms. Mustoe also advised high-level executives, on employment, non-compete, and separation agreements and assisted in independent workplace investigations.

Ms. Mustoe graduated from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where she served as the Executive Notes Editor on the Washington University Journal of Law and Policy and represented juvenile criminal defendants through the law school’s Juvenile Justice Clinic. Ms. Mustoe also externed with the Southern District of Illinois Federal Public Defender’s office and interned with the Legal Assistance Foundation in Chicago and Advocates for Justice in New York where she gained experience in family law, working with victims of domestic violence, and in education law, advocating for equal access to education for underserved populations in the greater New York City area. While at WashU, she received both the Equal Justice Works Award and the Dean’s Service Award for contributions to the legal community.

Ms. Mustoe is a member of the bar in Illinois and currently sits on the Labor and Employment Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA). She is also an active member of the Employment Rights and Responsibilities Committee (ERR) of the American Bar Association Labor and Employment Section and the Illinois chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) She has been recognized as a Rising Star in Employment Litigation since 2023 by Illinois Super Lawyers and as an Emerging Lawyer in Illinois Employment Law by Leading Lawyers since 2020.
