HSPRD’s Caryn Lederer joins the Ben Joravsky Show to provide analysis of the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Trump v. Anderson, the Colorado ballot challenge to Donald J. Trump’s candidacy for president.
Lederer led the Illinois ballot challenge filed by HSPRD and co-counsel Ed Mullen and Free Speech for People. The case secured a February 2024 decision from Judge Tracie Porter of the Cook County Circuit Court that Donald Trump engaged in insurrection and is disqualified from the Presidency under Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment. The U.S. Supreme Court decision in Trump v. Anderson subsequently held that states cannot enforce Section 3 by barring presidential candidates from the ballot.
