HSPRD recently hosted a panel discussion on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the 1966 Chicago Freedom Summer Movement for fair housing. Speakers were participants in the 1966 events: Professor Timuel Black, noted author, historian and civil rights activist; Don Rose, journalist, author, and Chicago speechwriter for Dr. King; and Bernard Klein, celebrated photographer and civil rights activist. The panel was held in conjunction with HSPRD’s acquisition of rare color photos of Dr. King taken by Mr. Klein.
