This month, HSPRD attorneys Elizabeth Mazur and Tory Tilton attended an inspiring evening of drinks and dialogue sponsored by Restore Justice Illinois. Participants had the chance to meet individuals who were once sentenced to life without parole and are now leading efforts to create meaningful change in their communities. Their powerful stories highlighted the need for fairness and reform in the criminal legal system, and guests left with insights on how to support candidates committed to justice. Elizabeth Mazur, a Restore Justice Illinois board member, has devoted the majority of her career to representing the wrongfully incarcerated.
