Happy Independence Day from all of us at HSPRD! On this Fourth of July, we celebrate 250 years of American Independence. As we look back at two-and-a-half centuries of history, we recommit ourselves to ensuring that all Americans share in our country’s founding principles of freedom, liberty, and justice for all.

Juneteenth, recognized each year on June 19, commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved individuals in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
