Lauren Buford is an Associate with Hughes Socol Piers Resnick & Dym, Ltd. Her practice focuses on the defense of hospitals, nurses, and physicians in medical malpractice matters. She joined the firm in 2018. Prior to joining the firm, Lauren worked at large defense firms and in the public sector. At a previous defense firm, she represented product manufacturers, particularly pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, in product liability disputes in state and federal court. While working in the public sector, she oversaw and developed litigation strategy for large caseloads of personal injury claims, including fractures and traumatic tears, requiring multiple surgical repairs, chronic pain conditions, and vision and dental injuries. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California where she was a four year member of the Varsity Women’s Rowing Team. She received her J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana where she received a merit-based scholarship and awards for trial advocacy.
