HSPRD partner Juliet Berger-White recently spoke at the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance 2017 Symposium on “The Legal Landscape: The Paths Toward Inclusion.” Juliet’s presentation focused on how to advocate for school district policies that are inclusive of transgender and gender expansive students.
Juliet Berger-White is a partner with Hughes Socol Piers Resnick & Dym, Ltd. She represents clients in complex litigation matters with a concentration in the areas of civil rights, constitutional law, class actions, educational equity, labor and employment, and whistleblower litigation. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Berger-White advises individuals, non-profit organizations, and corporations on a range of employment issues, including employment and severance agreements and employment policies and manuals.
In collaboration with the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital and the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance, Ms. Berger-White helped draft a model school policy for inclusion of transgender and gender expansive students. In addition, Juliet is the co-chair of the Quality Jobs Council for Women Employed, which seeks to improve workplace conditions for low-wage workers.
