Congratulations to HSPRD’s Dina Torrisi Martin for being elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Ms. Torrisi Martin was officially elected by the National Board of Directors in January 2018 and will receive her membership plaque at the Illinois ABOTA Law Day Luncheon on April 27, 2018. ABOTA membership is by invitation only, for trial lawyers with a minimum of 10 civil jury trials and an honorable reputation amongst peers within their admitted Bar.
ABOTA’s mission is to safeguard the jury system, elevate the integrity in the legal profession, educate and train trial lawyers, establish relations with other legal organizations and associations, and cultivate the spirit of loyalty and professionalism among members. Other HSPRD ABOTA members include John Hughes, Donna Socol, Roger Littman and the current Illinois ABOTA president, Catherine Reiter.
Ms. Torrisi Martin focuses her trial practice on the defense of medical professional liability cases and various insurance defense matters. She has successfully defended numerous medical professionals, hospitals, and businesses in Illinois. She also represents health professionals before the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation regarding licensing and disciplinary actions.
Ms. Torrisi Martin has written and publicly spoken on various medical malpractice topics. She is a member of the Society of Trial Lawyers, Chicago Healthcare Risk Management Society (CHRMS), Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) and an arbitrator for Cook County Mandatory Arbitration-Chairperson.
