Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Segarra completed an immigrant Justice Corps fellowship at the University of Chicago Immigrants’ Rights Clinic. In this role, Ms. Segarra handled a diverse array of case types including asylum, withholding of removal, deferral under the Convention against Torture, bond, U-visas, T-visas, LPR Cancellation of Removal, and Temporary Protected Status.
While attending the UCLA School of Law, Ms. Segarra worked with the UCLA Immigrant Family Legal Clinic handling immigration issues impacting undocumented children and their families. She also worked with the UCLA Center for Immigration Law and Policy to challenge anti-immigrant federal policies like the unlawful termination of Temporary Protected Status under the First Trump administration. During her time at the UCLA School of Law, Ms. Segarra served as the Co-Executive Director of Law Students for immigrant Justice and Editor-in-Chief of the Chicanx-Latinx Law Review.
Ms. Segarra was driven to pursue a law degree after running the weekly Pro Se Asylum Clinic for Al Otro Lado Border Rights Project in Tijuana, Mexico following the Trump Administration’s implementation of the Remain in Mexico policy in 2019.
Ms. Segarra received a master’s degree in public administration from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University-Bloomington and completed her undergraduate studies at Northwestern University.
