Mr. Novaria also investigates high-exposure environmental claims and analyzes related coverage issues, including duty to defend, trigger, allocation, scope of coverage, and contribution.
In addition to his insurance practice, Mr. Novaria represents individuals and employees in civil rights and employment disputes, including matters involving wage and hour law violations, employment discrimination and harassment, and constitutional deprivations.
Before joining HSPRD, Mr. Novaria represented global insurers in complex coverage disputes involving product liability, environmental liability, and other high-exposure risks. Mr. Novaria has prepared successful dispositive motions and appeal briefs, securing summary judgment and appellate victories on behalf of clients in courts across the country. Prior to joining HSPRD, Mr. Novaria also worked for a national law firm where he evaluated healthcare industry risks, including medical malpractice and employment-related exposures, for London and Bermuda market insurers.
During law school, Mr. Novaria was a legal intern for the Chicago Transit Authority and Chicago Park District, where he focused on tort, employment, and property disputes. Mr. Novaria secured a favorable summary judgment ruling in a slip-and-fall case involving the Park District, as well as a finding of no liability for the CTA in an auto accident case. Mr. Novaria also interned for the Honorable Amy J. St. Eve in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
