U.S. Files FCA Lawsuit Against Las Vegas Hospice For Medicare Fraud

The United States and the State of Nevada have joined a False Claims Act lawsuit filed by relator Joanne Cretney-Tsosie, who is represented by HSPRD in conjunction with the Cohen Law Group and the Terry Law Firm. The lawsuit alleges that Creekside Hospice II, LLC, a for-profit hospice in Nevada, and its holding company, Skilled Healthcare Group, Inc., defrauded Medicare and Medicaid out of millions of dollars by admitting ineligible patients, altering records to falsely create the appearance that eligibility requirements had been satisfied, and improperly using billing codes that provided higher Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements but were not justified by the services provided.
