Adam Snyder is a Partner of Hughes Socol Piers Resnick Dym, Ltd. He focuses his practice on the defense of hospitals, nurses, and physicians in medical malpractice matters. The majority of his practice concentrates on the defense of birth trauma and wrongful death matters and issues involving women’s health.

Adam frequently lectures to health care providers and risk professionals. He serves as Co-Chair of a leading perinatal care conference, and as presenting faculty at clinical and legal conferences nationwide.

Adam also advises healthcare clients in general legal and operational/business issues, as well as contracting and licensing matters, medical staff privileges and HIPAA/privacy compliance. He counsels and defends insurers and hospital systems on Medicare matters, helping them overcome the challenges posed by Medicare’s increasingly stringent reporting requirements and the obligations and liability concerns that arise because of the Medicare Secondary Payer Act. Adam has defended the physician-patient privilege successfully, taking a personal contempt sanction to the Illinois Appellate Court.

Outside of the daily practice of law, Adam serves as a contributing editor to well known legal publications, presents to physicians and nurses on birth trauma litigation, and is an avid wine collector and mountaineer. In the past, he chaired two annual auctions that raised a substantial amount of money to fund scholarships for students pursuing legal careers that would directly benefit the public, and presently serves on the board of Friends of Prentice, the charitable organization that supports Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital in Chicago, and on the planning committee for galas at Advocate Health Care.
