We congratulate our colleague Cynthia Brito on her new role as the Chicago Director for the Inter-University Program for Latino Research (IUPLR) at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). In her new role Cindy will be responsible for directing the work of the IUPLR headquarter operations.  We are proud of all her accomplishments and wish her the best for her future endeavors.

IUPLR at the UIC is a leading consortium of  university-based research centers researching Latino issues. In the last three years, IUPLR has initiated key programs to build the research capacity of their Centers, funded new nine research working groups, and launched a national Latino studies humanities dissertation completion program funded by the Andrew Mellon Foundation.
