HSPRD partner Adam Snyder presented as part of a panel on cybersecurity at the annual “Law Day” event for the Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society (CHRMS) on November 18, 2016. Adam’s presentation highlighted growing liability concerns faced by healthcare organizations, including internal threats and HIPAA compliance, as well as use of digital evidence to disadvantage defendants during litigation. The discussion included real-world examples of how audit trails and social media evidence are being used in birth injury cases to unfairly shift the burden of proof to defendants.
Adam focuses his practice on the defense of birth trauma and wrongful death matters and issues involving women’s health, but represents hospitals and providers in all medical specialties. Adam also presents at national conferences on birth injury litigation, damages, HIPAA, and Medicare issues that arise in these challenging cases.
